I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and I specialize in counseling adults.
Over the past 25 years of being a psychotherapist, I have learned that each person I have met with is unique and has their own patterns of relating and being in the world. These patterns have developed for them over their lifetime to help them get along psychologically, first in the family he or she grew up in and then in the larger world outside. Unfortunately, some patterns and behaviors developed earlier in life may no longer be effective and, in fact, may create problems in growing and living a fulfilling life. I view psychotherapy as a process where the client and I are working together to gain greater insight and understanding of what is working and not working in their lives and possibly why. It is through this greater awareness and self knowledge that allows people then to change.
I am comfortable addressing a variety of issues and problems. Individual therapy often addresses issues of anxiety, depression, anger, as well as longer standing personality issues, such as social anxiety and avoidance.
